Mary Shields a long standing member, has been voted in as Secretary to our club by our Board. Congratulations Mary, it’s a hugely important role and a great honor that can make a positive difference to our club’s organization. The role of the Secretary is to support the Board of Directors and ensure the smooth functioning of the club’s committees.
The Secretary is responsible for: Ensuring meetings are effectively organized and events kept on task. The secretary is generally responsible for the administration of the club, arranging meetings and taking and circulating minutes.
Themes vs Assignments
This was not really confirmed. But I think we are all thinking, we stick with the “monthly themes”. Assignments you can submit at any time. Therefore, a new list of Themes for 2020 has been posted, on our web page and on our FB page. Look for assignments on the web page if you wish to give them a try. www.sjccny.org

Photos will be juried by Diane Bollen as last year. Two to Three images pp Prints Only - smallest should be 8 x 10 – 11 x 14. No Frames Please We are following the format of black frame white mat. In the past we accepted canvas and metal, but in retrospect, the Format of black frame white mat works best and is more uniform. Any questions contact Renée.
Since it’s an April Show, we thought the Theme should be “Spring”, Flowers, black and white, all Landscapes, etc. Title of the show to be determined - Work submitted in this show can be used in the Wallkill Show.

Jean Warren and her husband Rob, from Main Frame Gallery in Middletown will discuss, "why good frames are important"
We all know the importance of good frames. Their topics will include, using the best archival inks, paper, mats, glass vs plexiglass and adequate hardware. And information on sizing images for standard sizes and image sizes that need custom frames.
