Workshops: - Our Macro workshop with Herb at the Arboretum – The weather was somewhat questionable that day but we found some great flowers to shoot and Herb did a short talk on how to shoot macro and discussed the many different kinds of Macro lenses. How a diffuser works, how to use a color card and gray card to get your colors correct in PS for editing.
Field trips for June - Harriman State Park. Mountain Laurel. This week. Date to be decided at the meeting. Late afternoon – 4 Pm till dusk. Meet at Lake Skannatati off Seven Lakes Drive. The Mountain Laurel should be in bloom just about now. Use google Maps for Lake Skannatati, Tuxedo, NY 10975
This month’s guest speaker: Dave Albrecht - Dave teaches the Photography classes at Orange County Community College and is an expert on color management and proper photo critiquing. Dave will be discussing “How to Critique Your Own Work”, what to look for and what makes a good photo and why. Dave will help us understand how to properly compose a great photo using all the elements that help make it a great photo. Dave will be using images sent in our members.
Please send your photos to me – to firstname.lastname@example.org via WeTransfer. We will use photos from last month’s theme. But if you have a photo you want critiqued please bring it in. Prints are always welcome. Photos can be submitted via a jump drive/flash drive. However, please isolate your 3 images on your drive to save time. (Three images per member) Photos from a recent trip accepted.
