January 2018 Meeting Minutes 

  • Renée called the meeting to order at 7:29.

  • Renée introduced two new members, Connie and Terri.

  • 2018 dues are now due.  They are $24.  Please pay John Strobl.

  • We will have an exhibit at the Warwick Library.  Jurying of the photos will take place at the February Meeting.  Please bring up to three photos to be juried.

  • The Storm King Art Center will be open the weekend of January 20th.  The club is planning a trip to the Art Center. 

  • Hudson Valley Photography Network Spring Conference:  RAW Wars: “Battle of the Landscape Pros,” will be on April 28th at SUNY New Paltz, Lecture Hall 102.  The presenters will include Greg Miller, Carl Heilman and Nick Zungoli. 

These three professional landscape photographers will battle it out using their personal editing techniques and the software of their choice to get the same results from one RAW file. They will each present their way of processing the same image. Pre- registration is recommended. Mail in a check our use the PayPal icon on the web site to purchase tickets

  • Reminder: We will have a raffle at our February meeting to win tickets to the conference.

  • Warwick Library Exhibit jurying event in February – We will have our jury event for the exhibit at our February meeting – Bring your 3 photos to the meeting – No frames –

  • We need to create a theme for the show. Send suggestions to Renée.   

  • Greg is looking for people who may have a connection to people that know someone that works on the Hudson River or knows the history of the river that may have a story to tell, for him to use along with his photos for a new publication he is working on.

  • Member Previews Night - The new screen – worked well – the remote laser pointer made it easy to discuss presented photos.

  • Jay gave an overview of his 2017 “At Least One Photo per Day Project.” and discussed why he chose to do this project that he started in January of 2017.  

  • Next Month’s Guest Speaker will be Joe Brady.  Topic to be announced
