Exhibiting Guidelines

All submitted images will be Juried  for Juried Shows only

Juried shows can travel to other shows without being juried again

  • Selections will be based on technical quality, expression of theme, proper exposure, clarity and finished print.

  • Please Note:  All photos accepted by the judges are final - after the judging, no additional photos can be submitted. Submitted prints cannot be reprinted unless other wise noted by club.  Three photos per member.  Reprints of submitted work that does not get chosen, can be reprinted and at the discretion of the Exhibit Committee

  • Details are as follows:

  • All active members in good standing will be able to participate in this event.

  • Prints only - No Frames - Three images per person - (unless otherwise noted for certain venues).

  • Photos should have been taken with in the last year and should reflect the theme, if one has been chosen.

  • Once accepted - All work needs to be framed & wired, with your contact information on the back.

      For all juried events:

  • Black frame, white mat, required for uniformity - Exceptions - Metal and Canvas

  • Print sizes recommended:    8 x 10, 11x 14, 16 x 20, 24 x 30.  In a large venue, the larger the work the better. (8 x 10 image mounted in an 11 x 14 inch frame is recommended for venues with lots of space.)

  • All Titles and prices needed once they have been accepted, prior to show for printing tags.

  • Suggestion for Prices - Do your best to include the total cost of your frame, mat, hardware, printing and time spent framing it.

Many Galleries charge a hanging fee and require you pay a percentage of your sale to them. So include                  these fees in your sale price.

  • Most venues, if in local café, or restaurant are priced in the mid-range between $50.00 &

$300. Some High-end galleries may suggest you charge more. Size makes a difference.

  • Personal Biographies suggested for club bio book that will be on display at the exhibit

           for guests to preview.

  • Pick up and drop off will be announced - prior to hanging.  Same for take down

  • Participants will bring their framed work to the exhibit hall or gallery on the day noted by the committee

  • Note: Hanging fees are required at some venues.

  • Reception - to be announced. (Fees for refreshments will be collected from exhibitors)

  • Ads and media announcements will be taken care of  by the club or venue.

  • SJCC Brochures will be available.

  • Help spread the word.  Invite your family and friends

  • PLEASE, be prompt when dropping off or picking up your work.  Once we get all the images it takes time to layout the room for hanging.
