  • Current Events:  Renée announced that we will be participating in the Fall Goshen ART Walk – that will take place on this Saturday Oct 14th at 1:00 pm - 4:00 PM (help with take down).  If you’re not submitting work come and support the club

  •  Exhibit Committee: Robin sent out a notice to all club members asking for submissions – We have about 10 members that will be hanging.   Jack reported that he will set up the display board he built to hang images on and Ron will bring the easy up for shade. Rain cancels but the forecast looks good.  Please arrive by 12:30 to help set up and remain till 4pm to meet and greet guests who may have an interest in your work. Please print labels for your images.

  •   Photo field trip to Mohonk Preserve – Oct 16th with Larry Randall (former committee chair for field trips) Larry is an avid hiker and offered to guide this hike. Being a photographer himself, he will understand the need to stop and take photos along the way. As Mary noted, it’s an easy hike on groomed trails. .Bring lunch, Water, bug spray and hiking boots are recommended.   Tripods are welcome.

  •   Sunset at the Wallkill Wildlife Preserve on October 19 – 4:30 PM Owens Station Road Sussex, NJ - Bring water, snack, bug spray, telephoto lens if you have one. Lots of migrating birds and your landscape lens for the sunset that gets even more spectacular after it sets, so plan on being there and hour after sunset.  (Easy access to your car and parking and bathroom facilities within walking distance of where we will be photographing)

  • Treasurer John Strobl: We are waiting on delivery for the new projection screen and hopefully it will arrive soon.

  • News on the new Goshen Library:   John mentioned that we can do an in progress photo shoot of the construction, but to be mindful of the boundaries and the workers. They will have a community room and we are hopeful that we can get first dibs on the room for the grand opening of the library.

  • An important FYI Re: Fieldtrip’s:  Mary Sheilds has organized many great trips for us throughout the year – Her goal is to have one or two a month. We would like to see everyone do their best to attend these field trips Mary so diligently scopes out for us. She has gone out of her way each time to be sure they are accessible for everyone by visiting these sites beforehand every time -  Please at least let her know if you received the notice and if you’re going or not and thank her for taking the time from her very busy schedule to plan these monthly trips.

  • Our Guest Speaker was Greg Miller – Greg discussed how he goes about preparing for a contracted assignment and shared images from his last assignment. It was amazing the lengths he went thorough to for this project.  Please contact Greg if you any questions about how he accomplished this assignment.

  • Clif was not in attendance. Greg was kind enough to run the member images of the monthly theme for us and openly discussed and critiqued each image. Thank you for your submissions.  Keep up the good work.

  • Renée will post the monthly themes on our club’s website  November “Mirrors”  December “Water”

  • Start preparing for the December photo contest. We will post the guidelines and categories.
